We collect almost nothing
This site is a set of plain HTML pages. It has no accounts, no login, no comment box and no shopping basket.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own, and nothing we run stores or reads information on your device to identify you. That is why you are not being asked to click a consent banner.
Analytics — what we added, and what it does
From 27 August 2026 this site loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script served from static.cloudflareinsights.com. We added it so we can see which pages people actually find useful. You should know it is there.
What it does collect, in aggregate:
- Which page was viewed, and the page that referred you to it
- Country, browser and operating system
- Page performance measurements — how quickly the page loaded for you
What it does not do:
- It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
- It does not fingerprint you or build a profile of you.
- It does not follow you across other websites.
- We cannot identify an individual reader from it, and we would not want to.
Cloudflare publishes its own description of how the product works atcloudflare.com/web-analytics. If your browser blocks it, the site works exactly the same — nothing on this site depends on it.
What the server sees
Our host records standard web request logs — the page asked for, a timestamp, a rough location and your browser type — to keep the site up and to block abuse. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you and we do not sell them.
Fonts
Page headings load a typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google to fetch the font file.
Links out
We link to trade bodies, standards organisations and consumer advice services. Once you follow a link you are on their site, under their privacy policy, not ours. We never pass your details to a locksmith, because we never collect them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you. The honest answer is that we hold no records that identify you personally.
